I particularly encourage you to look through your supplies (inks, paints, collage papers, pastels...) and gather anything that brings you joy!
Substrate
the project is done on a wooden substrate but you can do it in your journal, on a canvas or on watercoor paper.
BASIC TOOLS
Water + Spray bottle
Rags
Something to protect your surface (old towel, table-cloth, plastic bag...)
Something to protect your clothes (apron, old shirt...).
Optional: Craft heat gun (embossing tool) to speed up drying
COLLAGE
Assorted paper scraps in white and neutral tones (tea bags, vintage papers, book pages, scrapbooking paper, tissue paper, printed napkins) for our background
A selection of images of wings (butterfly, dragonfly, bird…)
Assorted paper scraps in colors matching the image of your wings
Matte gel medium
Paints, inks etc.
For this project, I use white and neutral tones for the background. I then work with pinks, greens and some darks to add touches of color and contrast. I encourage you to use the colors that you love the most and that match the wings of your choice. You will find some of my favorites linked below.
