nurture your dreams

with art journaling

what if you could…

  • Take time for YOU and your creativity

  • Play, relax and nurture your dreams in the safe space of your art journal

  • Let go of your fears and connect to your inner magic

  • Connect with like-minded creative dreamers!

Art journaling is not just about making art: it’s a wonderful practice of creative self-care!

art journaling ?

I love how fun and freeing art journaling can be, especially when you approach it… the mixed media way!

  • It’s simply a process of making art in whatever way we choose, just for ourselves, in the pages of a journal.

  • It can be a refuge to express feelings and emotions, a safe space fo tell your stories and memories, and a playground to unleash your creativity!

  • It can help you grow and find your unique, authentic voice as an artist.

Open your journal & see where it takes you!

You have such a gentle and calming way of teaching. Your classes have given me inspiration and techniques to start telling a story and enjoy the process. Now I feel more relaxed and “in the moment” when creating. With every new layer of collage, words and paint the “story” evolves and you know that nothing is ruined if you change your mind about something. Just put down another layer and go on playing and let your mind rest and heart sing.

the Workshops

In workshops 1, 2 and 3 of the retreat, I will guide you as we create a whole journal page from start to finish. Get ready for a magical journey!

Then in workshop 4, we gather again for a super inspiring Closing Celebration with plenty of tips, surprises and the making of a second page!

workshop 1

WED. 19 JULY

Good Vibes & First Layers

Let’s start by filling our page with good vibes! Our first layers will be an opportunity to loosen up and work intuitively. We will start with a bit of journaling, then permission granted to get messy as we play with crayons, paint and collage!

workshop 2

THU. 20 JULY

Building the Story of your Page

As we come back to our page, we will work more intentionalLy and define our composition, choose a color palette, add a focal image and keep building the layers to let our page tell its story!

workshop 3

FRI. 21 JULY

A Touch of Magic & Completing your Page

Finally, we will get super playful with finishing touches! They’re such a great opportunity to make your art unique and develop your own style. I will share some of my favorites and I hope you will come up with plenty more!

workshop 4

SUN. 23 JULY

Closing Celebration & Another Page!

Art journaling is meant to be a practice and your journal will no doubt have more pages to fill! That’s why I will be sharing another demo, in a different style, to help you get your next page started. I will also share some of my best art journaling tips!

We will email you when each workshop is released. Please add laly@lalymille.com to your contacts to make sure the emails arrive safely in your inbox.

I can't wait to share this creative time with you!

I took my first mixed media steps with you and, throughout those ‘ugly’ and doubtful interim layers, you reassured me that having faith in the process would produce work I could be proud of. Those words came true. I’ve never taken formal art classes in school but your ability to explain the reasoning behind each addition to a blank page has truly inspired and enabled me to believe in myself as an artist.

+ What's the schedule?
  • Wed. 19, Thu. 20 and Fri. 21 July.: Workshops 1, 2 & 3 will be released 3 days in a row. This way, if you can only create during the weekend, you'll have everything ready to go.

  • Sun. 23 July: we gather again for a special Closing Celebration full of tips, inspiration and another art journaling demo!
  • You have until Tue. 25 July to view the videos.
+ Is this the same retreat that you offered in March 2023?
  • Yes it is! I've had so many requests to offer it again. If you've enjoyed the retreat last March, come join us again and take it as an opportunity to take time for YOU, and create a new page! Who knows what's going to emerge this time?
+ What time will the classes be released?
  • The workshop videos will be released each day around 2pm, Paris / 8am, ET / 5am, PT. You don't need to be present at that exact time as the videos are pre-recorded.
+ Are the videos pre-recorded?
  • Yes, the videos are pre-recorded so you can enjoy the workshops at your own pace no matter your timezone.
+ Are the videos downloadable?
  • No they're not. Make sure you have a good enough internet connection to be able to stream the videos.
+ How long is each workshop?
  • Each workshop is about 1 hour of content, split into 2 videos. Then it's up to you how long you want to dedicate to the activities. In the first 3 workshops, we will create an art journal page from start to finish. In workshop 4 I will share an extra, shorter art journaling demo. This is one is intended to inspire you but you're not expected to create a second page from it (of course you can if you wish to!)

  • No. If you prefer you can use a sheet of watercolor paper or even a canvas. But if you would like to start an art journal (and I really hope you will!) then once you're signed up you will find a recommendation in the supplies list, or I have a tutorial for you to easily make your own.

  • Yes, there will be a temporary Facebook group for you to connect with fellow participants during the event. This group will close once the event is over.
+ English is not my first language, will I be able to participate?
  • Yes! There will be participants from all over the world. I'm French so I don't speak too fast, and all the videos have English captions (click the CC button) If you don't understand something, you can pause the video and try using Google Translate. I'm also doing my best to show you everything I do as clearly as possible.
+ I have more questions, where can I get more info?
  • After you sign up, you will receive more detailed information to help you get ready and if you don't find the answer then, you can send an email to Will at admin@lalymille.com

  • Please do NOT send me questions via Messenger or Instagram private messages, as there's a good chance I won't see them and you won't get an answer.
