A Sweet Taste of Spring
A Sweet Taste of Spring
Hello lovely artist!
It feels like winter lasted just about 5 minutes (still enough for a few lovely snowflakes) and now spring is here! I am feeling so inspired by the flowers popping out all over the garden: bluebells, daffodils, crocuses... I've never seen so many violets in my life! The grass is covered with them and the smell is just heavenly. I am soaking in the sweetness with every fiber of my being, and I’m feeling so inspired (would that mean a new class is in the making?… maybe yes!)
Welcoming the seasons
I don't think I ever told you about one little creative practice I am very fond of in our home: we have a small wardrobe in the living room, where we keep the coats (they don't get out much these days!) and it is painted in chalkboard paint. So for every seasonal change, I like to write an uplifting message with sweet little doodles! I don't know the first thing about hand-lettering and this is a very spontaneous practice. It just makes the creative kid in me really happy!
Whether you're waiting for Spring or Autumn right now, there's something so lovely about welcoming and embracing the cycles of Nature in our lives.
flower flow!
A new class is in the works...
I have some happy news to share!! Flowers are one of my favorite subjects to paint, and my absolute favorite kind of painting to have in our home. A floral class has been on my mind for quite a while now, and it's time to make it happen! I'm almost done planning the lessons, then in the coming weeks I will start painting some samples, and then it will be on to filming.
I'm calling it "Flower Flow"and it's going to be all about joy, beauty and the magic of Nature. I hope you will love it! I've just opened the waiting list to see who might be interested, so please put your name down if you are (plus you'll get exclusive early bird access once the class opens in a few months):
let inspiration flow!
Something I always like to do when preparing a new project, like a class or a new body of work, is to gather inspiration in some Pinterest boards. Here are three that I have started for Flower Flow: feel free to check them out and let yourself feel inspired!
I would also love for you to share some inspiration with me in a comment below: tell me, what is your favorite kind of flower? Do you love gardening? (I do!!) Are there any floral artists who inspire you? I’d love to add them to my inspiration board! And if there is any technique or topic in particular that you would love to find in this new online class, then please also let me know!
Wherever you are in the world, no matter what season you’re in, I hope you can find a bit of inspiration in nature this weekend, and feel your heart blooming!
