Wings of Hope
Art Journaling class
Connect to your inner fairy and create an art journal page that honors the magic within.
What if...
you took some creative self-care time that will help you show up in your life with more strength and hope, no matter how uncertain the world may seem?
your art journal could become a magical portal that helps you reconnect to your inner fairy, and all the wisdom she has to offer you?
you could cultivate hope in your creative process, so it ripples out into your life and lifts you up like a beautiful pair of strong, colorful wings?
In this class, I invite you to create a fairy and focus on the theme of Hope. As she stands before the horizon, her soul full of dreams and wishes, what awaits her on the other side?…
This soulful lesson will help you find your wings again, and open them with renewed hope and confidence.
Open your journal, open your wings!

When the world feels scary and uncertain, it can be so hard to show up as your best, most joyful and hopeful self. But art can help!
Do you ever feel like...
Making art seems pointless and superficial when there’s so much darkness and fear in the world.
And yet, that’s precisely when we, and the people in our lives, need an extra dose of joy, beauty and love, to lift our spirits up. I believe with all my heart that your art is your gift to the world. Don’t give it up! When you feel creatively fulfilled, it will ripple out in ways you can’t even imagine.
Stress and worry can completely block your creativity.
I know what that’s like. But it’s in those moments that we need creative self-care the most, and a way to let out our emotions. Art journaling is the perfect outlet for that. It will help you slow down, breathe and shift your mindset to more positive thoughts that will help you feel stronger and less anxious, as you face life’s challenges.
Your thoughts are all over the place and you have no idea how to even get started.
That’s what I’m here for: let me take you by the hand and guide you step by step, as you express your thoughts and feelings through art that comes from your heart and soul. Creating your own unique fairy will give you a sense of accomplishment (no drawing skills needed!) and renewed confidence in your own magic.
allow yourself to mindfully embrace your creativity, and open your wings!

Hi, I’m Laly Mille
To me, art journaling is more than just making art, it’s the best kind of creative self-care! I love how this beautiful practice allows me to:
Explore and express my thoughts and emotions, even the uncomfortable ones, in the safe, intimate container of my art journal.
Shift my mood and lift me up by helping me reconnect to the wisdom of my spirit, the strength of my heart and the magic of my inner soul.
I’m like you, sometimes my creative juices run low. That's why in this class, on top of creating your own fairy, I’m going to show you a very easy and relaxing way to re-spark your inspiration, by using existing art as inspiration for a new piece! When you really love something you’ve created, it can be so much fun to use it again as a starting point. Plus, retracing your steps is a great way to practice and grow your artistic skills.
So, to begin with, I'm going to show you one of my favorite art journal spreads, then I’ll show you how to create a "sister" page inspired by it. You’ll soon see that, despite the similarities, the story always unfolds in new and different ways...

The Lessons
Using collage to create a story, and paint to bring it all together, let me guide you step by step as you create a meaningful and poetic page.
This art journaling lesson is all about honoring your inner magic, knowing that there is more to you than it seems, and that you can walk your path with renewed hope and confidence, if you just trust your wings.

Part 1
First Layers
Remember that this is all about taking time for you, for your heart and soul. So, make your space inviting and inspiring, breathe, relax, mindfully gather your materials, choose your colors and start imagining what your page and your fairy will look like…
I’ll guide you to:
Get set up with your art supplies
Select collage elements for your background
Create a soft, layered and loose background with paints
Create the basis of your fairy’s body and wings from copyright-free images (no drawing skills needed!)
You can start on a blank page or, if you’re anything like me, you might already have a few “just-started” backgrounds or unfinished pages in your journal, waiting to become the starting point for something more!

Part 2
Build The Story
In this next step, you’ll start to imagine the story of your page. Trust the process and let it unfold! Mine turned into a snowy, dormant landscape, where my spring-inspired fairy brings new life and hope. Yours can be completely different!
I’ll guide you to:
Think about the composition of your page: what is your fairy surrounded by? Is she going somewhere? You can even give her a little companion like a bird or another sweet animal!
Trace a simple, textured horizon line: what hopes and possibilities might await your fairy on the other side?
Choose whimsical collage elements that will give your page more depth and a magical, fairy-tale like feel.
Seamlessly blend the various elements of your page with paints, pens, pencils and more, to create a cohesive look. That’s the magic of mixed media!

Part 3
Bring Your Page To Life
It’s time to add an extra layer of magic with beautiful, meaningful finishing touches!
I love this stage of the process because it’s playful and fun, and at the same time the story deepens. That’s when the wisdom of your inner fairy is sure to show up, so take your time and listen to her whispers…
I’ll guide you to:
Add a quote or poem to your page (mine has a bold and grungy look, but yours can be different)
Journal your thoughts and emotions into your art
Add plenty of delightful finishing touches that will add more beauty, emotion, and meaning to your page, while making it unique and truly your own.

Inspirational Bonus
This class includes a curated Pinterest board with copyright-free images that you can use to create your fairy!

What will your fairy look like?
Ever since I created my first fairy with this technique, many more have appeared in my art journal. Here are some examples to inspire yours:
In total, Wings of Hope has approximately 2 hours of high-quality video lessons.
I show and explain everything in detail, and I encourage you to make the process yours and work with what you’ve got. If you've ever taken a class with me, you know I like to keep it clear and super inspiring!

Your Guide
for this creative journey
Hi, I’m Laly and I'm so glad you’re here!
I’m a mixed media artist from France, and I’m here to help you turn your creativity into a fulfilling, soul-nurturing practice.
The beautiful energy of gratitude is one of the key ingredients that make the holiday season so magical. Your Questions Answered
If you don’t find an answer below, don’t hesitate to reach out by email at admin@lalymille.com. We’ll will do our best to help!
I've never tried art journaling or mixed media before. I can't even draw a straight line! Can I really do this class?
Absolutely! Art journaling is super freeing and forgiving, and you don’t need any special talent or drawing skills to enjoy this beautiful practice! In this class, we do “mixed media” art journaling, which means that you can use any techniques and supplies you’re most comfortable with, and incorporate images through collage. I’ll guide you through the basics and as we work with plenty of layers, you’ll see that any “mistakes” can always be fixed or covered up. Art journaling might be just what you need to fully embrace your creativity!
I don’t have a lot of art supplies. Will I need to spend a lot of money on a journal and supplies?
No! You can definitely make beautiful art even if you’re not buying premium art supplies. You’ll need a few paints and I really recommend matte gel medium as a glue, but other than that, I encourage you to use what you’ve got and go on a scavenger hunt for collage materials like magazines, old books and reclaimed papers. And if you don’t have an art journal, you can absolutely create your page on a sheet of heavy watercolor or mixed media paper, or even on a canvas!
I’m an experienced artist. Will there be anything I can learn from this class?
Absolutely! No matter if you’re already into art journaling or not, Wings of Hope is a wonderful opportunity to renew your inspiration, loosen up and feel more free, while making art that’s more unique and meaningful than ever. This class is all about taking time for YOU, to relax, rediscover and reconnect to the light of your creative soul.

I’m a self-taught artist and a certified creativity coach, and I teach in a heart-centered, non-academic way. You’ll see me in action and will be guided to explore your own world, inside and out. I also offer plenty of creative tips and strategies to make your practice unique, overcome your blocks and challenge yourself to gently expand your comfort zone.
To know if a class will be the right fit for you, trust your intuition. If it feels exciting and stirs your curiosity, if it resonates in a way that feels really good, that feels like joy, like home, or like a big good sigh and a smile... then it most certainly is for you. Let your inner artist guide you!

If, on the other hand, you’re looking only for technical instructions, or for an academic class where you submit work and get detailed feedback and critique, then this is not the right place.
If you’re not comfortable with words like soul, intuition, intention, mindfulness, affirmation, magic, or if seeing me draw an oracle card for inspiration makes you cringe… then my classes are probably not for you.
When in doubt, I encourage you to start with one of my free lessons to see if my teaching style resonates with you. Please note that refunds will not be made after registration for a paid class.

My classes are e-courses, hosted online, and members get an individual, private account to access all their classes on my teaching platform.
All classes are self-study and self-paced. They’re not academic classes. There are no assignments to submit, no grades, no schedule, no certificates of completion, no live conferences. There’s no schedule to comply with, no “catching up” or “falling behind”, ever. They’re simply a space of freedom and creativity for you to explore and enjoy.
Most classes have lifetime access (as per our terms of service, "lifetime" means for the lifetime of the program). The videos are pre-recorded, so you can watch them at your own pace, whenever you want, and as many times as you wish. It’s up to you to find the rhythm that suits you best. Make time regularly to complete your course. It’s a gift you’re giving yourself!
-
For most of my classes, you get lifetime access to the classroom and videos. "Lifetime" technically means for the lifetime of the program. If we were to retire a course (which so far has never happened), we’d give you several months' notice so you have plenty of time to complete the lessons. You can watch the videos within the classroom as often and as many times as you wish.
To protect the integrity of our content (and all the work that went into creating it) the videos are not downloadable. Therefore, before signing up, please make sure that your internet connection allows you to smoothly stream high-resolution videos online. Refunds will not be made after registration.
