Art Journaling Setup & Supplies

free video!

my art journaling setup & supplies

Hello sweet creative!

I got so much amazing feedback about last week’s tutorial on making your own art journal, and I’m so excited for everyone who’s created their first handmade journal. So I thought today we’d keep going with another free video!

Another question I often get is “What are your favorite art supplies for art journaling?”. I’m sharing it all today, together with some handy tips on how to set up your space in a way that’s both practical and inspiring. I hope you will enjoy it!

I also have a whole, completely FREE 5-day workshop all about mixed media supplies, and if you haven’t already, I’d love for you to join! It’s full of demos and useful tips:

As always, the best advice I can give you is to first work with what you already have, and already love. When it comes to mixed media and art journaling, there are so many possibilities, and new supplies coming out all the time. But after years of practice, I find that I don’t need that much and always come back to the same basics, plus just a few fun ones.

Here is a list of my favorites with shopping links:

Any questions? Feel free to ask in a comment below this post. I also have plenty of free art journaling resources, more tutorials and inspiration for you here:

And of course, I would love to be your guide in one of my art journaling classes! I'm so passionate about sharing this magical process that I've created quite a few: The Artist & the Journal is my foundational class, where I share absolutely everything I know about this beautiful practice. And I’ve also created plenty more shorter workshops to help you feel inspired and fill your art journal with lots of beautiful pages!

What art supplies are your absolute favorites? What is one you’ve never tried and would love to experiment with?

Light and Love,
