I have just finished filming my art journaling lesson for Wanderlust 2021 and it’s all about Gratitude and Wishes! There has been so much stress and anxiety in 2020, especially these past few weeks, and it can be hard sometimes to shake it off and see all the joy and beauty that are still there, waiting for us to pay attention.
Gratitude always helps me shift my focus back to joy. It's not always easy, but optimism is a choice, a commitment and a practice. My art journal is a favorite place to express gratitude, and plant the seeds of dreams and wishes for the future…
Playing with color (especially if I’m in a “grayish” sort of mood) is a powerful way to shift my emotions. It is just so lovely and fun to play with every color of the rainbow! The sight of colorful art supplies on my table never fails to make me smile.
One of my favorite parts of the process is always the early stage of gathering inspiration and yummy materials, especially going through my collage papers and preparing a colorful little bundle, full of possibilities!
And then building up layer upon layer of paint, collage and inks. Layers of color and light, like in any real garden. A field of flowers coming to life, where every bloom represents a wish growing in our hearts and coming true in our lives…

I finished the page by adding a little four-leaf clover, like an extra little blessing, a small reminder of magic and wonder, a tiny miracle.
